Jesuit Volunteers worldwide

Jesuit Volunteer Communities were first set up in Oregon in the 1950s, and spread to other areas of the USA in the early 1970s. From there they came to Germany and the UK in the 1980s, and have since come (and gone!) in many European locations.

Currently, in the USA all the JVCs and also international volunteering have one joint website: www.jesuitvolunteers.org

JVC Philippines is at: www.jvpfi.org

In Europe, JVC is currently running in six countries:

UK — www.jvcbritain.org
GERMANY — www.jev-online.de
FRANCE — j.v.e.free.fr
POLAND — www.wolontariat.katolik.pl
IRELAND — www.sli-eile.com/prog_vol_resid.html
SLOVAKIA — www.jev.sk

In Spain and Portugal, there is a very active network of social justice volunteering and development agencies: www.netxavier.org

Part-time volunteering exists throughout Jesuit schools and parishes worldwide, but some of the more formalized agencies include:

UK — London Jesuit Volunteers: www.msjc.org.uk/sjljv.htm
IRELAND — Sli Eile: www.sli-eile.com/prog_vol_local.html
USA — Ignatian Volunteer Corps: www.ivcusa.org
AUSTRALIA — Ignatian Volunteers: www.jesuit.org.au
